Phlebotomy & Lab Services

Students will receive lecture and hands-on instruction in the field of Phlebotomy and Lab Services. This program will cover topics such as: the role of the Phlebotomist; patient identification; collection and preparation of blood and body fluid specimens; maintenance of records and collection areas. Anatomically correct arms, prosthetics, and human blood draws will be used in this course. In addition to the medical training, this course will include Employment Skills Development (ESD) and basic computer literacy for database familiarity. Graduates are prepared to obtain entry-level jobs in health services.

Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalency

Next start date:  August 2016

Tuition:   $2300 includes books and supplies

Class Schedule:
Tuesday/Thursday, 5–9 p.m.; AND Saturday, 8 a.m.–noon

Program length: 10-11 weeks (124 hours)
