Distance Education Services

Welcome to eLearning at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES

Distance Learning is happening in many ways around BOCES and our 9 component districts – and it is growing every day.

We have fully online classes where students and teachers are separated by time and distance. These classes offer opportunities for credit accrual in core classes, electives, and AP courses, as well as credit recovery classes. They are offered by NYS certified teacher through AccelerateU (run out of Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES) and other BOCES around the state.

We have blended learning options where students may recover credits or units throughout the year using digital curriculum from a vendor or created by a teacher accessed through an LMS (Learning Management System).

Others may utilize digital curriculum while working with their NYS certified Teacher of Record to gain initial of partial credits for classes throughout the year.

We have videoconferencing where classes join other classes, museums and experts around the state, country and world for highly engaging and interactive discussions.

The ideas and options are endless when you eliminate the need to meet at the same time and in the same place! Distance education is all about access – gaining access to increase and expand learning opportunities.

When you need to increase learning access, reach out to the Distance Learning Specialist at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES.
