Extended School Year Program

12-month preschool, related services and classroom programs

The Extended School Year Program is for children, ages 3-21, who have severe disabilities and are in need of a full-year program to sustain their learning and maintain their developmental levels. The organization of the program is comparable to the normal school year program. The students continue to receive the basic instructional services, as well as those supportive services specified in their Individual Educational Plan (IEP).

The program is conducted for a 30-day period during the summer months of July and August. Referrals to the program are made by the local school district Committee on Special Education (CSE) for school-age children, and by the local school district Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) for children ages 3 - school age.
