Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Center (RSE-TASC) provides a state-wide coordinated system of high quality technical assistance, training, information dissemination, and professional development to school districts and other NYSED approved special education providers to improve their instructional programs and practices for students with disabilities, particularly in the areas of literacy, behavioral supports and interventions, specially designed instructional practices, and transition planning and activities. The RSE-TASC has two parts: Regional Specialists and Special Education School Improvement Specialists (SESIS).

As a member of RSE-TASC, SESIS will provide targeted technical assistance to component and individual schools within each BOCES region based on a determination by NYSED, and as resources permit, to districts identified based on assessment results of students with disabilities. The SESIS will work primarily with identified school districts to provide embedded professional development and coaching to systematically improve instructional practices primarily in the areas of literacy, positive behavioral supports and interventions, and specially designed instructional practices. Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES has a SESIS available for their  9 component districts: Brockport, Churchville-Chili, Gates-Chili, Greece, Hilton, Holley, Kendall, Spencerport, and Wheatland-Chili.

Please contact Dr. Marijo Pearson at (585) 352-2416 or Ellen Rossetti (585) 352-2489 for more information regarding SESIS services and responsibilities.
