Greetings! 

 

1.        On December 17th and 18th we will be moving the eBook Follett Destiny Catalog onto a new consortium level server.  As a result:

·         The Follett Destiny Site will be down for those two days

·         The web address will be changing for the Follett Destiny eBook site.  This will be a onetime only change. 

·         As a result of the change, you will need to update the URL for the Destiny eBook site.  Also, if you have any eBooks in a resource list, those will also need to be updated.  I will send out what the new URL will be.

·         Jane and Karen will update the Visual Catalog set up for the school in the Library Automation CoSER

·         The links from the website (http://www.monroe2boces.org/ebooks) will NOT be affected

·         If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know!

2.       Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Library has shared a FREE Author event- feel free to pass on the information.   Author and Emory University English Professor Mark Bauerlein who wrote: The Digital Divide: Arguments for and Against Facebook, Google, Texting, and the Age of Social Networking will be:

·         Presenting at HFL High School on December 13 from 7-8 PM

·         Book signing event at the Mendon Public Library on December 12 from 7-8 PM

·          Attached are two  documents: Baurelein flyer AND Our Connected Lives

3.       Upcoming Professional Development:

·         eBook Collection, part II: 11/28 (7:30-8:30) OR 11/28 (3:45-4:45).  For Teachers AND Librarians

·         Common Core Unit Planning using IFC: 11/29 AND 11/30 (Full Day). For Librarian AND Teacher Collaboration

·         Audio Books: 12/5 (7:30-8:30) OR 12/6 (3:45-4:45). For Teachers AND Librarians

4.       Registration is open for the Spring SSL Conference (Section of School Librarians) which is being held in Rochester April 25-27.  For more information, visit SSL Conference.

5.       We are exploring new titles to add to our eBook Collection.  Please take a look at titles available from our current eBook Vendors and let Jim Belair know any titles you would like to see added:
