TEAM is a component of Westside Jr./Sr. High Academy. This program is for pregnant and parenting teens who need assistance and support in completing the requirements for graduation. The students are provided with support systems to help them transition into parenthood. This includes a mentoring program that connects students with a teacher, social worker, and student behavioral assistant to monitor and support all aspects of their life. The students also receive parenting education as part of the curriculum.
Process for Student Enrollment
Districts refer students to Westside Jr./Sr. High Academy and TEAM, which is located at 3635 Buffalo Road in Rochester. After a referral is received, the student and family participate in an intake process designed to assess student needs and program compatibility. Westside Jr./Sr. High Academy then makes a recommendation to the district, which determines program placement.
