WEMOCO appoints new principal

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is pleased to announce that Jill Slavny has been appointed to the position of executive principal for WEMOCO Career Technical Education Center. 

Slavny comes to BOCES 2 from the East Rochester School District where she has been high school principal for the past five years; preceded by three years as assistant principal. Previous to East Rochester, she was a science coordinator and teacher for the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES and earlier in her career, a scientist in private sector industry. 

Slavny holds a Master of Science in Math, Science and Technology (MST) Education from St. John Fisher College. She is passionate about WEMOCO and knowledgeable of its critical role in meeting higher standards of college and career readiness for students. She begins her new position July 23. 

BOCES 2 thanks current Executive Principal Joe Salemi for his outstanding leadership of WEMOCO over the past 20 years and for setting a solid course for the future. BOCES 2 wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
