About Us

The Monroe 2 BOCES Media Library serves nine component districts with media for support and enhancement of the curriculum. Our media collection is curriculum based, representing programs cooperatively developed with teachers to meet the New York State Curriculum Standards. The media in our library is the most effective instructional resources available to strengthen student learning.

Each component district is a member of the service enabling all administrators, faculty and staff to access our curriculum based media. These items may be ordered via the Monroe 2-Orleans Web/Max Booking. The staff is available to answer reference questions and assist with searches to match media to classroom curriculum. An extensive preview program is completed each year. This gives teachers an opportunity to evaluate for purchase consideration new media from producers. The media staff partners with teachers working on new curriculum to review all existing items as well as add new product to support the New York State Curriculum Standards.

The Monroe-2 Orleans BOCES professional collection represents media titles that support staff development, and effective teaching strategies. This collection is the result of educators sharing input as to the issues of greatest interest and represents titles that promote understanding of these issues. We continuously update the collection.
