Exceptional Children

The Department for Exceptional Children offers a variety of programs and services to students birth through 21 years of age who have been referred by their local school district. These students present complex and/or specific educational needs that can best be met in a carefully developed program within a stimulating learning environment. Students are thus provided with opportunities for learning that are designed to establish, expand, and enrich growth in targeted developmental areas. Programs are innovative, interactive and provided in close collaboration with the educational partners, i.e., the local school district; the interdisciplinary team; parents; and the medical community as appropriate.
