When they walk in the doors of the hospital they’re not students, they don’t have a teacher and they don’t report to a classroom. They are interns who are headed to check in with their job coach in their training room.

BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education is excited to host the SkillsUSA Fundraiser Vendor and Craft Show on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at WEMOCO. Students will be on hand to display their skills, offering goods and services in exchange for donations to SkillsUSA. In addition to our students, more than 20 vendors and crafters are set to be on hand to support our SkillsUSA students competing in state and national competitions.

Presenters of this two-day session, Lynn Erickson and Lois Lanning, explain how to intentionally focus curriculum and instruction to support deeper thinking and the transfer of learning.

As our nation continues to mourn the victims of the Parkland, Florida tragedy, we at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES keep the victims and their families in our thoughts. Our BOCES focuses on our students, and as students return to classes following mid-winter recess, teachers and staff will be listening to their concerns and providing guidance to them as they express themselves in the wake of this incident.
