Two-day Training Session Will Explain How to Use Curriculum to Develop Deeper Thinking

The Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development is holding a workshop called Concept-based Curriculum and Instruction for the Thinking Classroom. Presenters of this two-day session, Lynn Erickson and Lois Lanning, explain how to intentionally focus curriculum and instruction to support deeper thinking and the transfer of learning.

This session will answer questions such as:

  •     What does Concept-Based Instruction “look like” in the classroom?
  •     What is a conceptual lens and how can we use it to develop higher levels of thinking and increased motivation for learning?
  •     How can we design instruction to achieve a synergy between the lower and conceptual levels of thinking?

This training session will be held May 30-31, 2018 at the BOCES 2 Professional Development Center, 3599 Big Ridge Road, Spencerport, NY 14559.
