FROM NYSED: Clarification on the NYSESLAT criteria for the NYS Seal of Biliteracy
- In the current NYS Seal of Biliteracy Handbook, in “Appendix 1: Earning the New York State Seal of Biliteracy”, the second criteria for demonstrating proficiency in English reads: “ELLs score at the Commanding level on two modalities on the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT).” This will be changed to “ELLs score at the Commanding level on two modalities on the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) as demonstrated by an overall scale score of 290.”
- Please see the attached memo titled, “Clarification on the Criteria for Earning the New York
State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB)”, for additional information.
