CTE students work with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
Two students welding a fish pen.
Two fish pens are being constructed by CTE welding students in conjunction with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Built from 2-1/4" aluminum tubing and enclosed by netting when finished, each pen will be 20' x 6' x 5' and hold up to 5,000 fingerlings.

According to the DEC website, DEC stocks almost 900,000 pounds of fish into more than 1,200 NYS streams, rivers, lakes and ponds every year, both to enhance sport fishing and to restore native species. We're excited to be able to play a part in this mission.
