NYSED Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Framework
CRP Principles

The New York State Education Department is pleased to announce that the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CR-S) Framework, is now available.  The CR-S framework is an initiative that establishes CR-S guidelines for seven different stakeholder groups.  It was designed from the ground up and is the collective insight of parents, students, teachers, school and district leaders, higher education faculty, and community advocates.

The CR-S framework is organized by four principles: welcoming and affirming environment; high expectations and rigorous instruction; inclusive curriculum and assessment; and ongoing professional learning.

The framework can be accessed on the  NYSED website.  Additional information on the NYSED Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education is forthcoming.
