EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Case Management Training has been designed by the NYSED Office of ACCES-AEPP for all case managers in adult education programs funded under Employment Preparation Education (EPE) State Aide, Welfare Education Programs (WEP), or WIOA title ll, and Adult Literacy Education (ALE) funding.
Case managers will learn the ACCES-AEPP priorities. Topic areas such as the 4 Pathways to the NYS High School Equivalency Diploma, the adult education intake process, and identification of the barriers to employment will be covered, including apprenticeship opportunities.
The New York State Department of Labor Job Zone Website can play a key role in meeting college and career readiness standards in the adult education classroom and help strengthen WIOA partnerships with your local One-Stop and the Department of Labor. The discussion will cover a wide range of literacy programs such as career exploration, planning, and preparation. Registering students for Job Zone is required under ALE, WIOA, and EPE funding. Participants will receive hands-on experience using and navigating the Job Zone website.
Case Management & Job Zone Training is 6 credit hours that will count toward the required 14 hours of professional development under ACCES-AEPP contracts and grants.
