EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Executive Function Skills for Adult Learners
Executive Function challenges affect attendance, persistence, and learning for many adults. This workshop provides practical, classroom and tutoring session- ready tools for supporting planning, memory, focus, and self-management. Participants learn how to embed EF routines into reading, math, and ESL instruction using simple checklists, visual planners, chunking strategies, and metacognitive prompts. These routines will benefit all struggling learners, including those with learning disabilities.
Accelerated Learning Strategies for Busy Adult Learners
Adult students juggle work, parenting, transportation barriers, and stress. This session introduces evidence-based techniques—retrieval practice, spacing, interleaving, micro-drills, cognitive load management—that help them learn faster, remember longer, and stay engaged. Participants practice turning existing reading, writing, and math tasks into accelerated-learning activities they can use immediately. These strategies will help all struggling learners, including those with learning disabilities.

This 3-hour training will count toward the required academic yearly 14 hours of professional development under ACCES-AEPP contracts/grants.
