EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Teachers, Tutors, and Program Managers-Are you looking for research-proven teaching methods to help struggling learners achieve their goals? Do you have questions about effectively serving adults with learning disabilities-diagnosed or undiagnosed- which, according to research, may apply to 50-80% of our adult education population?
The Learning to Achieve series provides practitioners with practical strategies developed within the learning disabilities community that works for all of our learners. The Learning to Achieve training is required of all new paid instructional staff and should be completed within the first year of hire. We hope you can join us for this valuable professional development opportunity!
9:30 am-12:30 pm Legal Issues, Self-Disclosure, and Confidentiality: Focuses on identifying the legal self-disclosure, and confidentiality issues relevant to adults with learning disabilities and the service providers working with them.
1:00 pm-3:30 pm Self-Determination: Consider how service providers can support adults with learning disabilities with developing self-determination to achieve their goals.
This training counts for 6 hours toward the required 14 hours of professional development under ACCES-AEPP contracts/grants.
