DETAILS:
The FL RAEN is pleased to announce a new series of workshops for people who would like a little extra support in teaching math concepts: The Math Minis! Each 90-minute workshop will focus on one key math concept. The first half will be devoted to teaching or refreshing the concept for the teacher/tutor/provider. The second half will then show participants explicitly how to turnkey that lesson for students. Workshops are deliberately designed to be delivered in bite-sized chunks. We will be offering them virtually but expect folks to come prepared to participate and to ask questions. For those of you who may worry that you're "not a math person," these workshops are for you! Come with curiosity, leave with confidence and a lesson plan.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
This training will equip teachers with practical, engaging strategies for teaching adult learners how to understand and use the number line and absolute value. Participants will explore real-world connections, and simple instructional techniques designed to make these math concepts easier to understand. Teachers will leave with a lesson they can take directly into their classroom!
CONTACT:
or 585-617-2732 with any questions.
This 1.5 hours of training will count toward the required academic yearly 14 hours of professional development under ACCES-AEPP contracts/grants.
