In close consultation with partners at the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) developed updated guidance regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) for schools across the state to help us ensure the health and safety of students. The measures outlined in the guidance reflect best practices for reducing exposure and transmission of infectious diseases in community settings, such as schools. The Board of Regents and NYSED will continue to work with our partners at the state, local, and federal levels to keep school leaders informed as this situation continues to evolve, and we will update and disseminate additional guidance as necessary.
