Bakery students serve up their week’s work at bake sale

Juniors in the Bakery program at the Center for Technical Education Center at WEMOCO held a bake sale on Thursday. Students in both the senior and junior classes hold the bake sales each week, through the end of the school year.

The students put together a menu that included cookies, cannoli, pizza subs and more. Some items remain the same every week, while roughly two-thirds of the items change to whatever items the class make during their weekly units.

The line was out the door, filled with students and staff waiting to buy something from the Bakery class. Students who visited the bake sale to buy treats said these events are fun and it’s cool the Bakery program offers what they make for others to enjoy.

Proceeds of the bake sale go back into the Bakery program budget, to help fund future bake sales. 100-125 people typically visit the bake sales to buy baked goods from the students.
