The 16 graduating seniors in the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Center-Based Program have long been each other’s strongest supporters, said Special Education Supervisor Ken Sharp as he welcomed students, families and friends to the 2021 commencement ceremony.

Guest speaker Ryan Maier, who had been the group’s ELA teacher, encouraged them to continue to be supportive and help make the lives of the people around them better. Physical Education teacher Michael Auble presented the school’s Stephanie Austin Memorial PE Award to Mashanti Weems and Kristopher Sumeriski. Staff members then introduced each individual candidate, sharing their strengths and some personal moments.
