Using information from the NYSESLAT TOMs and teacher expertise, participants will work together to develop an English language proficiency tool. This tool can be used by teachers to obtain information about their students' proficiency levels and guide instruction in the ENL and classroom setting. This summer, we will be focusing specifically on the writing modality and looking critically at what students need to be able to do in order to move to the next proficiency level and move toward grade level writing skills.
