NYSESLAT Linguistic Demands Series- Part 3 Listening
Starting 1/26/2022 at 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM
Event Groups:
• Mid-West RBE-RN - Mid-West RBE-RN Events
Each year, students identified as English Language Learners take the NYSESLAT to determine their proficiency in English in four modalities. In this workshop, participants will take a close look at what is expected of students in the listening portions of the test and interact with the NYSESLAT Targets (Targets of Measure). Additionally, participants will look at how this information, combined with knowledge of a student's proficiency level can inform instructional practice. Teachers will be able to sequence listening lessons in the English as a New Language classroom and better understand the linguistic demands of the listening portion of the NYSESLAT.
