Current Medical Office Assisting student Leslie Penn and her classmates started their program in October and will finish in March.

Leslie said, “I figured if I started to go to school to improve upon things, I could go back into the work force” with a whole new skillset.

The training offered in this program meets the strong demand in the area. The program has 100% job placement.

Displaced from her previous job, Leslie chose the CWD Medical Office Assisting program, because it offered her what she wanted: classes five days per week, individualized instruction and support learning the material that other programs she looked at didn’t offer.

“The environment is better.  If have I have a problem, I can always call on Linda (Linda Rabjohn, the MOA course instructor). ‘I’m having trouble with this.’ She’s more than happy to come and explain it,” she added.

She appreciates the way classes are structured and detail-oriented and said, “We do a lot of review, and that keeps us on our toes.”

When asked what she’s looking forward to upon completion of the Medical Office Assisting job training course, Leslie pointed to her textbook and the chapter on medical coding for patient billing and said, “Learning this and getting a good job.”
