Congrats to SAME Graduates
BOCES 2 program grads with their instructors
The Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience (SAME) hands-on program excites students for future careers in the advanced manufacturing field.

On Friday, July 29, a graduation ceremony was held at Monroe Community College’s (MCC) R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center for students who completed the three-week session. SAME gives high school students in Monroe County the chance to gain experience using Advanced Smart Manufacturing, CNC Machining, Mills and Lathes, CAD/CAM and Blueprints, while earning three MCC course credits at no cost to them.

Following remarks from students, instructors and community partner representatives, program participants received certificates and gathered with their families for lunch.

Community partners that make this program possible include Monroe One BOCES, MCC, Monroe County, the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA), the Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers’ Enterprise (FAME) and many other local businesses.

Congratulations to all who completed the program. Those interested in next summer’s program can visit http://Monroe2BOCES.org/SAME  in early 2023.
