53 Miles for 53 Years
Teacher and two students walking outside the Westview building
Westview students and staff are participating in a 53-mile walk to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. It began with an article read in the Social Justice class taught by Tim Baker and Kyle Norton. The resulting discussion about King’s life and accomplishments prompted “53 Miles for 53 Years,” a walk to honor him and to commemorate his death 53 years ago. Beginning on March 15, and continuing every weekday at lunch, students and staff can join in the goal by walking laps around the Westview building.
