The New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test or NYSESLAT is the state-mandated assessment designed to measure the English proficiency of English Language Learners (ELLs). It must be administered annually to all ELL students, K-12, by certified and trained teachers. Participants will learn how to administer the 4 components of the NYSESLAT, and how to score the Speaking and Writing sections. *This PD is meant for teachers who have not previously administered the NYSESLAT.
