Taking the Next Generation Learning Standards to the next phase involves looking closely at curricular units and lessons to include resources and materials that offer diverse populations opportunities to engage more fully, to create deeper connection to learning. Using tools from Engage New York, and the New York State Early Learning Department, as well as links to additional resources, teachers will review their curricula to add resources, activities and materials to promote achievement for all of their students, including those from different backgrounds and experiences. This is a working session. Participants are asked to bring either their long range plans, units of instruction, and/or some lesson plans with them to actually make revisions to their instructional planning during this time.
