Starting 5/4/2021 at 3:30 PM until 4:30 PM

• Communication and Technology Services - Communication and Technology Services Events
Description:
The first principle in the NYSED CRSE framework is a "Welcoming and Affirming Environment.” A welcoming and affirming environment feels safe. It is a space where people can find themselves represented and reflected, and where they understand that all people are treated with respect and dignity. The environment ensures all cultural identities (i.e. race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, language, religion, socioeconomic background) are affirmed, valued, and used as vehicles for teaching and learning. In this session, participants will discuss the importance of establishing a community of learners. Participants will learn about strategies that promote individual success and mutual support. These strategies can be utilized the next day whether students are learning in school or at home.

This professional development opportunity was created by eTeachNY and brought to you free of charge through the Teaching in Remote Learning Environment (TRLE) Grant. eTeachNY is a coalition of education partners who have come together to support the implementation of the Teaching in Remote Learning Environments Initiative.
