Knowing our students and their stories is the first step in providing an equitable education for English Language Learners. Research shows us time and again that empathy is the gateway to breaking down the barriers that prevent ELLs from being fully included in school communities. Please join MidWest RBERN in a virtual book club series focused on the "Immigrant Experience" designed to help educators increase their capacity to identify and empathize with others lived experiences. Session 2 will read Refugee 87 by Ele Fountian. This session will be a combination of asynchronous Schoology work and 1 ZOOM discussion and will run March 6 - April 14, 2023.
