Cover Sheet from Regional Curriculum Document--The
primary use of this document is to help determine the number and
complexity of texts selected throughout the year for each module. It
also establishes the quantity and text types for writing that students
should be doing in each module.
Regional Curriculum Map--This document takes what is organized in the Regional Curriculum Document and establishes a planning tool
for district-level curriculum writing. For each module, the map lists a
description, enduring understandings, critical content, and skills. The
map has space for district-level curriculum writing teams to input
texts to be used, potential writing tasks to assign, and three units of
instruction that would fall within each module. Sample lessons/units are
included for each module as well to help districts in their curriculum
writing and unit-alignment. The Regional Curriculum Map is the tool
teachers can use when planning or developing instructional units for
each module.
Modules 1-6--These
are the six modules that make up the Regional Curriculum Document. These
documents should be used in conjunction with the Regional Curriculum
Map to write district-level curriculum.
Additional Resources--The
links provided in this document show curricular materials found
elsewhere that may fit into the module. They are meant to be used as a
resource as teachers work on their own district units of instruction.
