Electrical students meet new technology

Students on a row of exercise bicycles that generate electricity

Our Residential and Commercial Electrical students visited the net-zero-energy Imaginarium at I-Square. They saw the windmills and got to closely examine one that was being repaired. They also viewed solar panels, the operation of the Geothermal closed loop system, and the g green roof, which utilizes plants to both purify and reduce storm runoff. The students didn’t just observe - they contributed energy too! They rode special exercise bikes which generate electricity that is collected along with the other sources to operate the building. Thanks to I-Square owners Mike and Wendy Nolan and I-Square Contracts Administrator Diane Zaccarine, for inviting the students to see this ecofriendly technology.
