A Full Month of Fun with Learning Unlimited

Trying out some improv moves

Let's catch up with some of the excitement in the Spring 2023 Learning Unlimited program! March was a busy month, with three great events.
  • On March 14, friends spent the evening following step-by-step directions and sharing materials while assembling St. Patrick’s Day crafts and enjoying snacks. Happiness was found at the end of these rainbows!
  • With special guests like our three incredibly talented improv comedians - Marc D'Amico, Elizabeth Winslow-D'Amico and Megan Mack, members of the comedy troupe Thank You Kiss - the Learning Unlimited evening on March 21 felt like our very own Rochester Fringe Fest! The guests led our group in interactive games and improvisational exercises that had everyone in stitches. So much fun - thank you for sharing your humor and making us all laugh!
  • The group wrapped up the month of March with a night of Martial Arts! Led by the multi-talented Nate Parker (whose day job is teaching at BOCES 2 Paul Road Transition Center), our LU participants learned proper stretching techniques to safely prepare for any kind of strenuous physical activity. Then our young black-belts-to-be tried out a few important self-defense strategies. Watch out, bad guys - don't mess with this group!
Learning Unlimited is a Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES program for adults with disabilities (run through a grant from OPWDD) that provides weekly opportunities for participants to gain social and independent living skills. Registration for the Fall 2023 program will begin in August. Questions? Please reach out to: Kimberly Stephenson [email protected] or Andrew Fowler [email protected]..
