The Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Center for Workforce Development is offering a 5-day, 25-hour summer class to help BOCES 2 program completers earn additional hours and all program completers prepare for NYS Cosmetology licensing exams. This class is intended for students who have completed an approved Cosmetology program and are preparing for their NYS Licensing exams with a refresher of industry-based skills.

Minimum enrollment numbers must be satisfied to run this class. If minimum enrollment is not met, you will receive a cancellation notice prior to the scheduled start date and will receive a refund.
Topics/Activities include

haircutting techniques
- blow-dry styling techniques
- thermal curling/curling iron techniques
- practice other techniques required for NYS state board exam
Fee: $350/student (25 hours @ $14/hour); includes a new mannequin head; students must supply cosmetology kit
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00am - 2:30pm (30 minute break for lunch, on your own)

Dress Code: Wear closed-toe, leather or leather-like shoes, back scrub pants and a smock.
Supplies: Bring complete cosmetology kit. New mannequin heads provided.
Prerequisites:
- Participants must have completed an approved cosmetology program.
- BOCES 2 program completers are eligible to earn additional hours and do not have to provide proof of completion
- Non-BOCES 2 approved cosmetology program completer?
- Must have 1000 hours earned if completing hours from another NYS approved cosmetology school. Students must submit proof of completion and transcripts of hours. Students cannot be enrolled without this documentation. Submit documentation to [email protected].
