Hi there, Summer at the Center Prospective Students and Families!
Summer at the Center offers week-long career and technical education summer camps for students entering grades 7-9 in September 2024. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sessions are run by industry-experienced professionals and, unless otherwise noted, take place at WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center, 3589 Big Ridge Road, Spencerport. Transportation is not provided.

Camp Flour Power, July 8-12
Prepare to make your baking dreams come true! Roll up your sleeves and dive into making cookies, cupcakes, breads, and even pizza. Whip up tried-and-true recipes in a professionally-outfitted kitchen. Learn all about safe food handling, how to use kitchen tools, and even the magic of measuring. Whisk, mix and bake your way to sweet success!

Junior Police Academy, July 8-12
Experience the world of law enforcement! Get the inside scoop on patrol tactics, crime scene investigation and more. Explore a variety of services the police provide to the community, including traffic stops, search and rescue missions, fingerprinting and more. Participate in live demonstrations and exciting activities.

Camp Hammer Head, July 8-12
Create sawdust and memories as part of a carpentry crew! Get hands-on with saws, hammers, and nails as you unleash your creativity. Sharpen your skills by measuring, cutting, building, and adding the finishing touches. Walk away with your very own masterpiece as a reminder of the experience.

Camp International Flavor, July 8-12
Discover the world's flavors! Learn to cook a variety of dishes in a real kitchen. Each day, explore a new country's cuisine. Share your favorite recipes with the group. Practice using kitchen tools safely. Understand how to keep food safe to eat. Cook delicious meals together every day. Invite your family to try what you've made on the last day of camp.

Camp Socket and Solder, July 15-19
Spark creativity and solder up a storm. Dive into the world of electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, carpenters and more! Get hands on with projects like building your own toolbox out of sheet metal. Learn soldering techniques and tackle exciting electrical projects. Hear firsthand from pros in the working world. Plug in and power up for an exciting experience.

Camp Style Squad, July 15-19
Make a grand entrance into the world of cosmetology! Learn how to wash, condition, blow-dry, and style hair in all sorts of trendy ways. This is the ultimate glam getaway for budding beauty enthusiasts!

Camp Farm Life, July 15-19
Grow your skills down on the farm! Get ready for a week of sun, fun and hands-on learning about all things agriculture. Interact with animals and plants. Explore different careers in farming, from planting seeds to bringing food to your table. Hear from experts working in the field. Have an unforgettable adventure in the great outdoors! Please wear pants, closed-toes shoes, or work boots, and bring a water bottle every day. Note: This camp takes place at Springdale Farms, 700 Colby St., Spencerport.

Camp Smile Champs
Bright smiles and opportunities ahead in the world of dentistry! Discover hands-on dental procedures, examine the latest equipment and closely observe the skills needed to become a dental professional. Learn how to conduct an examination while making patients feel comfortable. Create a diagnostic plaster model of teeth. Work in a simulation lab with dental instruments including a high-speed dental handpiece. Interact with dental specialists at all levels of dental care. Explore the process of documenting and developing a patient dental plan. Begin your journey towards a promising dental career.

Registration Details
Registration opens Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 at 9 a.m. and closes on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
How to register:
  1. Visit the registration website available here.
  2. Add your selected camp(s) to the cart. If registering more than one child, complete the process for one child at a time.
  3. Create a CWD student account (or login if you already have one). Use your child's name but an adult's email address. Note: This is the general CWD application; not all fields may apply.
  4. For Program of Interest, choose “Summer Camp - Summer at the Center.”
  5. Click submit.
  6. Complete payment. Once submitted, you will receive a payment confirmation email.
  7. You will also receive a separate email request to complete health information for the registered child.
Please note: Both payment and health information must be complete to finalize the registration.
