The 2023 Center for Workforce Development Graduation and Awards Ceremony celebrated the achievements of adult learners earning their high school equivalency degree and/or completing career training programs. Donned in caps and gowns, graduates were honored during an event on Aug. 9 at the BOCES 2 Professional Development Center.
The event started with a welcome from CWD Assistant Director Rebecca Horowitz and was followed by a congratulatory message from CWD Director Shawna Gareau-Kurtz. Two of the adults being honored then took the podium to share the journeys which led them to BOCES 2 and their perseverance that helped them get across the stage. It was then followed by moments in the spotlight for each honoree as they were given their certificates. Smiles, hugs and pride filled the room as family and friends celebrated with the graduates after the ceremony.
