Nurse Assistant Class Returns in September

Returning this fall, the Center for Workforce Development (CWD)’s Nurse Assistant class continues to be an outstanding option for students looking to jump into the region’s rapidly growing health care industry. There are rewarding jobs available right here, right now, to any person with the right skills – which CWD can help you obtain!

In fact, CNA jobs are expected to multiply 8% every year through 2029[i].That means expanding opportunities in settings like nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.

“The Nurse Assistant Program is one of our most important, as there are tons of employers looking to hire CNA’s right now,” said Tom Schulte, CWD Director. “Our next class begins in September, so don’t miss this opportunity to build your rewarding new career!”

The class is taught by experienced instructors who teach skills like patient communication, body mechanics, hygiene/grooming, nutrition, exercise, dementia, and end of life care. Students also receive a 30 hour Clinical experience as part of the course, to facilitate hands-on learning. By the end, you’ll be prepped and ready to take the NY State Certification Exam!

The program has built-in flexibility, offering a morning program (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and an evening program (5 p. m. – 9 p.m.) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The class costs $2,650, which includes textbooks and a uniform.

If you’re also interested in obtaining your High School Equivalency Degree (HSE), let us know and we’ll see if you’re eligible for our Dual Program – which actually saves you money!
