Machining Fundamentals Certificate Program

$99 badgeThis part-time Machining program prepares you for a career in the Machining industry in only 15 weeks. Using the "learn while you earn" model, our evening course will cover topics such as blueprint reading, machine shop math, drilling, tapping, and reaming. Receive your industry recognized OSHA-10 certificate and gain experience operating the Lathe, Mill, and basics of CNC Machining. The program also provides a hybrid learning model that blends skill-building in the machine lab with remote learning hours that can count toward an apprenticeship. This course was created to enable you to maintain employment during that day while completing this program. You will get the opportunity to see if machining is the right fit for you, receive training in the essential aspects of the occupation, open doors with local employers, and build connections that will set you on a pathway for a successful career. 

Program Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • successful completion of TABE entrance assessment
  • HS diploma recommended, not required (note: employers may require a high school diploma)
Tuition: $2,275 (Local grants and scholarships available)

  • Fall: 9/19/2023 - 1/9/2024
  • Spring:2/13/2024 - 5/30/2024 
Class Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 - 8:00 pm
Program Length: 15 Weeks, 145 Hours Total: 90 Hrs In-Person, 55 Hrs Remote Learning

Dress Code: Long pants are required. Jeans are acceptable. Wear clothing that can get dirty. No baggy clothing. Sneakers or Boots must be worn. No open toed or heeled (above ½ inch) shoes. Tops must cover the torso (shoulders, waistline, and chest). No dangling earrings, chains, bracelets, or necklaces. Clothing with offensive or inappropriate language is not allowed.
Safety goggles are provided and required.

How Do I Enroll?

Admission Procedures
When you are ready to apply, registration for Career Training Programs requires successful completion of the entrance assessment, and satisfactory arrangement of payment of tuition. An automated email confirming registration will be sent to your email. The entire admission process must be completed before enrollment is confirmed.
  1. Complete a contact card and register for an Entrance Assessment: Once you submit the contact card, you'll receive an email (check your spam!). Use the link in the email to complete your application and register for an Entrance Assessment. 
  2. Complete an entrance assessment to determine your program eligibility. Your score on the assessment helps determine the level of support you may need to be successful in the program.
  3. Secure funding. You may choose to meet with an advisor to discuss funding options.
