This NEW class has been created in collaboration with local employers to fill the hiring needs of many new jobs in Monroe County in 2024 and beyond. Our part-time Manufacturing Technician program prepares you for a career in the process technology industry in only 18 weeks. Using the "learn while you earn" model, our evening class allows you to work while you're taking classes. In this class, you will gain the fundamental skills of industrial processes in various industries including chemical process, physical processes, and food production. Students will gain knowledge in the basics of the field including pumps, valves, drums, vessels, process industry technology, and process control instrumentation. This course is designed for anyone looking for a start in a new, growing field with more opportunities opening in the Finger Lakes region over the next few years.

Program Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Successful completion of TABE entrance assessment
  • HS diploma recommended, not required (note: employers may require a high school diploma)
Tuition: $2,695 FREE for 2024-25 school year!
Dates
  • Fall: 9/10/24 - 1/28/25
  • Spring: 2/11/2025 - 6/24/2025
Class Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Program length: 108 hours of in-person instruction + 10 hours of online coursework = 118 hours; 18 weeks

Dress Code: Long pants are required. Jeans are acceptable. Wear clothing that can get dirty. No baggy clothing. Shoes, Sneakers, or Boots must be worn. No open toed or hi-heeled shoes. Tops must cover the torso (shoulders, waistline, and chest). No dangling: earrings, chains, bracelets, or necklaces (Close fitting jewelry is ok). Long hair must be tied back and nails should be trimmed. Clothing with offensive or inappropriate language is not allowed. Safety goggles are provided and required.

OSHA 10 Certification
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 10-hour training will help educate workers to predict, prevent, identify, and stop possible common worksite hazards, and is required for many industry careers.

Admission Procedures

  2. Complete an entrance assessment to determine your program eligibility. Your score on the assessment helps determine the level of support you may need to be successful in the program.
  3. Secure funding.Your payment options include:
