Nurse Assistant: A Career Helping Others

The Nurse Assistant is a proud, professional member of the health care team and a first step in a long, successful career in healthcare. In addition to technical knowledge and skills learned in the classroom, students will learn how to care for and respect patients and residents with dignity. Students will complete a 32-hour clinical experience. In addition to the medical training, this program includes Employment skills development and basic computer literacy for database familiarity. Support is available for English language learners.

Course Information
  • Prerequisites: Medical Clearance Form  and successful completion of TABE entrance assessment
    • Note: In order to comply with NYSDOH vaccine mandates for healthcare institutions, students enrolled in this program may be required to show an original COVID Vaccination card indicating either administration of 1-shot (Jenssen) or 2-shot (Moderna and Pfizer) vaccine. Copies of vaccine card will not be accepted.
  • Tuition for the 2022-23 school year: $2,750 includes uniform, books and exam fee

  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday,10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Clinical hours 9 a.m-2 p.m.)
  • Program length: 151 hours (14 weeks)

Admission Procedures
 When you are ready to apply, registration for Career & Technical programs requires successful completion of the entrance assessment, and satisfactory arrangement of payment of tuition. An automated email confirming registration will be sent to your email. The entire admission process must be completed before enrollment is confirmed.

  2. Submit program-specific requirements via email, fax, or hand delivery: Medical Clearance Form
  3. Secure funding. You may choose to meet with an admissions advisor or financial aid specialist to discuss funding options.
