Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

LPN Program Offered by Genesee Valley Educational Partnership at Monroe 2 BOCES

Are you ready for a rewarding career? Do you like excitement and challenge? Nursing is a valued and respected profession that offers the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.

Patients depend on their health care providers to meet their needs, and the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an integral part of the health care team. Working under the direction of a doctor or registered nurse, the LPN performs many of the basic functions involved with patient care.

Through this 12-month program, you will learn nursing fundamentals, including patient care, anatomy, nutrition, basic pharmacology, rehabilitative care and more. The course includes clinical experience in local hospitals and nursing homes. Graduates of this program are prepared to take the NCLEX-PN Examination for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Many LPNs choose to continue on their path to other health care careers, such as RN, radiology and more.
