Wheatland-Chili, the smallest of Monroe County’s school districts, is located in Scottsville, a small historic village ten miles south of Rochester. The Ideal Candidate Profile

The Wheatland-Chili Central School District Board and community are seeking an educator who has a strong background in raising achievement for all learners. The candidate will engage in all aspects of the Wheatland-Chili schools and community events. The successful candidate will embrace and further the mission of the Wheatland-Chili CSD. The candidate will be one who possesses:
  • A solid background in curriculum development and improving instruction;
  • Effective communication skills to engage all stakeholders;
  • Experience with human resources, finance, and facilities management;
  • A proven record of supporting faculty and staff with strengthening the academic and social emotional learning of all students.
  • A commitment to equity for all.
  • A focus on supporting a well-rounded educational program inclusive of the Arts and Extracurricular activities;
  • The ability to champion district accomplishments and promote growth.
The Wheatland-Chili Board of Education will offer a competitive annual salary of up to $180,000 based on the candidate’s professional qualifications and educational experience. Residency is not required, but the superintendent must be actively engaged at school and community events and activities. Anticipated start date: July 1, 2025.

Personalized Education with Powerful Results. As a small organization, we are able to provide a more individualized education by focusing on the unique learning needs of our students. Our combined community voices ensure the highest quality education for our students.

Social and Emotional Learning. We are committed to developing the social and emotional learning of students. Working with community agencies, we provide an environment where students are able to develop pro-social skills for success. The District hosts a Satellite Clinical Care Site from the University of Rochester Medical Center as a support to families and children in need of a higher level of care.

K-12 STEM Initiative. Our elementary students are introduced to the wonders of a Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) approach to learning through Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Launch. PLTW is a pre-engineering program that continues in middle school for all students and through high school elective courses. High school students have opportunities to earn college credit through their high school studies through Monroe Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Instructional Technology. All classrooms at Wheatland-Chili are equipped with interactive technology to enrich the instructional experience for students. Multimedia resources are integrated into instruction through this technology to support student learning.

Advanced Placement and College Level Courses. High school students at Wheatland-Chili have many opportunities to earn college credit through high school courses.

Superintendent Search Process

Superintendent Lynda Quick, Esq. has announced her decision to retire at the end of the 2024-25 school year.

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES has been chosen as Wheatland-Chili's Superintendent Search Consultant, and we are proud and excited to continue to be the educational partner of choice for our component school district. In this capacity, the consultant guides the district through a process that outlines candidate qualifications, publicizes the opening, and provides a timeline for the search process.

Stakeholder and community input is a key component of a successful search. We hope to hold forums for staff, students and community members to once again give input to the Wheatland-Chili Board of Education. The Board of Education is eager to receive your input on this most important decision.
