 EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Civics is a big part of the Social Studies section of the GED. Graphs and charts are utilized to illustrate certain concepts. In this session, CUNY Master Teacher Nancy Beaman will lead a 3-hour session on ways to present Social Studies material that reinforces civics to students such as:
  • Anatomy of the Constitution
  • "Civics" Jeopardy
  • Matching and Predicting
  • Political Cartoons

This training is 3 hours in length and will count toward the required 14 hours of professional development under ACCES-AEPP contracts/grants.
