Please click MORE+ for the full details.Mask protocols for summer school have not changed:• All students and staff are required to wear masks indoors in any BOCES 2 facility including sites where BOCES 2 programs are housed, regardless of the student or staff members vaccination status• Students are required to wear masks at all times while on the bus to and from school• Masks are not required to be worn outdoors• Students will be given mask breaks in classrooms at the teacher’s discretion where physical distancing can be maintained (i.e. warm temperatures)• Students may remove masks when eating or drinking, provided physical distancing can be maintained• BOCES 2 will continue to provide a mask to any student or staff member who needs one.

This message is to clarify information about guidelines for wearing masks at school on Monday, June 7. Despite what you may have heard in the media, BOCES 2 was informed by the New York State Education Department that there is no change to masking guidance for schools.

The Project SEARCH Class of 2021 interns were recognized for their achievements at a graduation ceremony on June 23. The four young adults were welcomed by guest speaker Kaitlyn Jackson, the director of employment programs at URMC, where they all have worked this year.

The 16 graduating seniors in the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Center-Based Program have long been each other’s strongest supporters, said Special Education Supervisor Ken Sharp as he welcomed students, families and friends to the 2021 commencement ceremony.
